Learning how to successfully manage the graduate job recruitment process
Introduction
Don't base your decisions on what is easy, base them on what is worth the struggle.
~ Anmol Andore
As graduation inevitably approaches at some point on the student horizon, concern typically begins to shift from daily study issues to the increasingly demanding challenge of future recruitment possibilities in an ever more competitive job market.
This situation has been further exacerbated by the covid pandemic that significantly reduced most options for work experience opportunities that frequently form a significant recruitment requirement from the employer’s perspective.
However, even given the above, action can still be taken to enhance job market competitiveness, especially in terms of positively addressing expectations and behaviours that employers frequently identify as reasons for the rejection of graduate job applicants. This target audience for this course are graduates applying for their initial position in the job market, rather than those seeking subsequent career opportunities. The five themes covered on this course are:
Establishing a sustainable employment travel to work area
Researching and narrowing down appropriate employer job vacancies
Tailoring the application documentation to specific vacancies
Completing the application documentation in a professional language style
Planning, preparing, and managing the selection interview process
The Course Aim
To develop the key skills and competencies required to successfully complete all stages of the graduate job recruitment process.
The Course Objective
